Welcome to ViA Verde Umbria

GROWING FOOD   |    GROWING KNOWLEDGE   |   GROWING SUSTAINABLE FUTURES
As a living and learning lab, our small farm is a work-in-progress with a big vision: Contributing to a healthy planet with healthy people living in it. We put this Vision into Action (ViA) by organically producing olive oil, sirups, honey, aromatic herbs, and a variety of fruits and nuts, while also offering learning experiences and farmstay opportunities.

Our Vision

We started our azienda agricola 1h north of Rome at the beginning of 2021 as our long life dream with the mission to put the Visions of a sustainable food-&farming system into action. After having worked at universities, research institutions and NGOs on the topic of sustainable development and regenerative food systems for over 15 years on all continents but Australia, my husband and I decided to bring the theoretical knowledge and insights into „the field“ and move out from the city and into the beautiful Umbrian countryside to start a living lab for sustainable rural development and regenerative agriculture/permaculture. For this we have bought 5 hectares of land on the hillside with olive trees, fruits trees, nut trees and berries. In addition we planted about 3000 more plants and collaborate with other farmers of the area to complement our food and learning offerings. After many years of revitalizing degenerated and overgrown parts of the abandoned farm land together with our goats, donkeys and volunteers, we are excited to share our work-in-progress with guests from near and far. As we still continue on the side with our NGO work on Education for Sustainable Development, we have a lot of synergies and interesting projects to share and collaborate on.
